This focus on local processing ensures your smart home runs smoothly, even without an internet connection.

Beyond its core hub capabilities, the M3 features a powerful 360° IR Blaster with Feedback and Smart Learning. This not only allows you to send commands to traditional infrared devices like air conditioners and TVs but also intelligently detects when you use their physical remotes, ensuring accurate status updates across your smart home ecosystem. When paired with an Aqara Climate Sensor, the M3 can even function as a fully automated AC thermostat, allowing you to control your air conditioning unit via Matter in third-party apps like Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home.

Connectivity is paramount, and the M3 delivers with both optimal wired and wireless solutions. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4-5GHz) with enhanced WPA3 security for reliable wireless connections, and includes a Power over Ethernet (PoE) port for stable wired networking and power delivery. The addition of a versatile USB-C port further enhances stability by allowing for mini-UPS and power bank connections, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

The M3 prioritizes your privacy, designed without a microphone or camera to alleviate common concerns. It features local storage with end-to-end encryption for all your home data, including device lists, configuration parameters, and automation details. With 8GB eMMC storage onboard, your sensitive information remains private and secure.

Setting up the Aqara Hub M3 is effortless. It comes complete with a mount, screws, and a sticker, offering versatile placement options on flat surfaces, walls, or ceilings. Once powered on, Aqara's innovative MagicPair technology ensures automatic detection by the Aqara Home app, streamlining the initial setup process. For existing Aqara users, the M3 provides flexible options: either making it the central coordinator for other Aqara Zigbee hubs to enhance local automation, or seamlessly migrating all Zigbee Aqara devices directly to the M3 for an even more robust and centralized setup.

The hub also features a powerful 95dB speaker, functioning as an Aqara Home Alert siren or for announcements, with the ability to integrate custom ringtones into automations even without an internet connection. Furthermore, the M3 supports seamless upgrade and data transmission from many older Aqara hubs, allowing for straightforward migration without manual device reconnections, ensuring a smooth transition to a more powerful smart home ecosystem.
